Be ready for a friendly smile and a warm welcome at tea house Stara Pošta. Maja and Amanda will excite you with homemade herbal concoction spiced with a portion of joy and love. On an adventurous walk to the magical world of herbs you will feel the history of Gornji Grad and experience the story of the magnificent cathedral. 

160 different types of herbs grow in the colorful herb garden, where the spirit of history and the lives of young herbalists meet. Kordabenedikta also grows here, a flower that symbolically connects the past with the present of this space. Do you have time for herbal bath! A sensory experience that awakens the senses in a unique way. Following the example of the Benedictines, it is performed in silence. Enter this inspiring world of Maja and Amanda, explore a treasure trove of inspiration and perceptions.

Create an Herbal Spread and Enjoy a Tea Party

After visiting the garden, help prepare a delicious herbal spread.  A tea party awaits you with a beautiful aromatic pallet from which you will make your herbal incense await you in the homely ambiance of the tea house, which is decorated with local materials. In this charming atmosphere, warmed by the fireplace on cold days, listen to the intertwining of tense and humorous stories and interesting sounds. At the end, it will smell like homemade buckwheat bread and herbal spread, which was also made with your hands. Did you know that buckwheat was first mentioned in Slovenia in the land register of the Benedictine monastery in Gornji Grad as far back as 1426?

Take time to travel through the Maja’s and Amanda’s world. Immerse yourself in their realm of thinking, inspiration, contemplation and creation. The experience is not a stage show for a guest. Believe it or not, the main role will be played by you.

Information 

In case of light rain or snow, umbrellas or raincoats are provided to visitors. In case of heavy rainfall, customized herbal bathing is carried out in the tea house. The experience can also be prepared for smaller organized groups.
