August and September are the perfect months to explore the Logar Valley and its surroundings

Welcome to the Logar Valley that is blossoming in summer time. Explore the unspoilt nature of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and dive into the stories of landscape park boasting with Slovenia Green Park mark.

One of the most popular attractions in the Logar Valley is the mighty Rinka Waterfall. Due to a landslide that blocked the path, the route to the waterfall and onwards to Okrešelj is now led on a temporary route (over the landslide). However, there are many more natural beauties worth visiting in the Logar Valley and its surroundings.

What to see in August and September of 2024 in Solčavsko?

The Črna Spring

A natural-ethnographic trail through the Logar Valley passes many interesting parts of the landscape park. The walk along the trail takes 2 to 3 hours. The Črna Spring is one of the natural gems on the trail. This natural monument, also called the second spring of the Savinja River by many, takes its name from the dark sedimentary clays in the riverbed.

The Palenk Waterfall

The waterfall, which cascades down a 70-metre-high cliff in several streams, is a romantic place for lovers and a beloved spot to tie the knot.

Cycle the Solčava Panoramic Road

Are you ready for some breathtaking views? The Solčava Panoramic Road will not leave you indifferent. In addition to the spectacular views, there are also several tourist attractions waiting for you. Check the link below!

Take a hike to Klemenča jama and Strelovec

The rugged trail to Klemenča jama and Strelovec will amaze you with breathtaking views of the Logar Valley and the most stunning, thickest larch tree in Slovenia.

The Grohot Mountain Pasture

The mountain outpost on Grohot Mountain Pasture, below the northern spur of Raduha, is also one of the Solčava Panoramic Road’s points of interest. From the Bukovc Tourist Farm, a 45-minute trail leads to the Grohot hut.

A trip to the remote Robanov Kot Regional Park

The isolated farms and farmhouses give the valley a particularly welcoming image. After less than an hour’s walk, we reach Roban’s pasture.   Robanov Joža, a well-versed nature lover who wrote many stories about Roban’s Corner, was particularly fond of visiting this place.

Getting around by e-bike or public transport

Due to ongoing rehabilitation works after the landslide, the road is busy with trucks. Therefore we kindly invite all visitors to use one of many sustainable mobility options offered. Check the map of bus stops, bus connections in the Upper Savinja Valley, the Hop on – Hop off timetable and the Bicikelbus timetable. The map also highlights the bicycle and e-bike rental points in Solčava with all the necessary contact details for bike rental, including e-bikes.
