Klemenča jama and Strelovec

This is a diverse trail to Klemenčna jama and Strelovec. It will inspire you with beautiful views of Logar Valley and thickest Larch trees in Slovenia.

Koča na Klemenči jami (Hut on Klemenčna Cave) lays on the Klemenška Mountain. The mountain flirts with might peaks and walls of the famous Logar Valley. One of the most beautiful view is to the south. There you will see the mighty Ojstrica rising above the mountain. If you head away from the hut, on foot, towards Strelovec and Krofič, in about 10 minutes you will find thickest Larch trees in Slovenia. The circumference at a height of 130 cm is 464 cm and the diameter is 147 cm.

From a Mysterious Tunnel to the Thickest Larch in Slovenia

From the parking lot, head to the forest road in the direction of Klemenča jama. After a few minutes of walking, the wide path to Klemenča jama branches off to the left. A rather steep path soon leads us to steep slopes, where we cross a slightly exposed ravine with the help of a steel cable. The path, which continues to climb, reaches the place where the wall closes our path. In front of us we see a cave, above which there is a marking that directs us to it.

When you enter the cave, for safety grip the steel cable, which you will need more to make a safe descent than the ascent. Cross the exposed shelf along a slightly ascended wide path. As you exit the cave you will enter the forest. Continue forward, the trail is steep, wet and slippery. Please take extra care.

Cross the ravine over the bridge, then trail is less steep here. Soon you will reach the Dom planincev. We continue slightly uphill along a wide path that soon leads out of the woods. There is only a short ascent along the grassy slope to Hut on Klemenča cave.

A stone’s throw from the hut lay the thickest Larch trees in Slovenia. We turn left into the forest, where we follow the signs for larch trees, which are less than a 10-minute away by foot.

On Strelovec

Pass the the Hut on Klmenčeva Jama and continue towards Strelovec. The trail is well marked, easy and interesting. At first you will walk through the forest boroken by  pastures and colorful mountain lawns. The top is open and very scenic due to its peripheral location.
