The traditional goulash festival in Mozirje

At the Goulash Festival, registered teams—each consisting of two cooks—compete in preparing goulash. Their final dishes are judged by a professional jury. Visitors can also taste the goulash during the judging. The Goulash Festival takes place every year in May or June. Live music and other entertainment are also provided.  

Program of the Traditional Goulash Festival 2024

• 10 AM Gathering of team representatives – drawing of lots and assignment of teams to work areas
• 12 PM Start of goulash cooking and distribution of meat and onions
• 12 PM - 4 PM Wheel of fortune and social games
• 3 PM - 5 PM Goulash judging
