The Summer Season in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps Enriched Once Again by Green Mobility

This summer, the Kamnik-Savinja Alps will once again be enriched with green mobility – for the fifth consecutive year, the popular sustainable Hop-on Hop-off transport service is returning. It connects the region’s picturesque towns and offers carefree exploration of its natural and cultural heritage without the need for a car. Launched in 2021, the project quickly became a popular choice among both visitors and locals. This year, it brings important innovations – for both the environment and users.

Electric van for a quieter, cleaner, and more sustainable experience

For the first time, the service will operate with an electric van – a major step toward reducing the carbon footprint and protecting the fragile natural environment of the alpine valleys. The emission-free and significantly quieter vehicle responds to the challenges of modern tourism and supports efforts to preserve the Kamnik-Savinja Alps as a key source of drinking water for the wider region – for current and future generations.

Improved user experience with a new reservation system

This year, the service is even more tailored to user needs – seat reservations and ticket purchases can now be made online at www.hopon-hopoff.si, where all information about schedules, stops, and prices (ranging from €5 to €12, depending on the route length) is also available. Tickets will no longer be sold on board, so organizers recommend that visitors plan their trips in advance via the website.

Connecting places, nature, and people

The service will run from June 21 to September 14, twice a day – once in the morning in one direction, and in the afternoon in the opposite direction. The van, with a capacity of eight passengers, follows a scenic circular route connecting the towns of Kamnik, Komenda, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Preddvor, Jezersko, Solčava, and Luče.
